About Chicago Dance Crash
Founded in 2002 by Mark Hackman, Chicago Dance Crash has emerged as a staple of the contemporary dance scene in Chicago, providing audiences with a style that has been dubbed “confrontational classic” by the Chicago Sun Times. Combining the most athletic aspects of ballet, breakdancing, and acrobatics into one aesthetic, Crash productions range from contemporary concerts to live rock shows to high-energy 'movement plays,' all garnished with a little comedy, a lot of passion, and a couple of drink specials.
Earning The Katherine Dunham Award for Best Choreography from the Black Theatre Alliance for 2006's “Ghost Play,” 2007 saw the premier of the long-running, late-night hit “The KTF Championship,” which is now entering its 4th year running at the Lakeshore Theater. By year’s end, Sid Smith of the Chicago Tribune proclaimed Chicago Dance Crash to be “of critical importance to our city’s dance scene.” Chicago Dance Crash also had the distinct honor of being named the Reader’s Choice for Best Dance Company of 2009 by the Chicago Reader.
Crash is especially happy to be holding the reigns for the 2010 "Duets for My Valentine" Concert. If you like Dance Crash, you'll love "Duets!" Check out YOUR Chicago Dance Crash at the links below...
